CSR Racing 3 - NaturalMotion Games

Between July 2021 and June 2022, I was the Game Design Intern at NaturalMotion Games. There, I worked on CSR Racing 3 in the production phase.

There, I led the design for and oversaw implementation of numerous features that were developed by the team. I bolstered my understanding of GaaS mobile game design, including core loops, monetisation and considerations for cross-platform play.

The team I was part of worked specifically within meta and progression, developing features to support long-term play and support the elder player experience. I wrote one-pagers and full design specifications, user stories and led multiple presentations to stakeholders, taking their feedback and iterating on design documentation. I also designed concept sketches for features and led research into competitors’ implementations and ideas. I gained experience working with config data in Unity and version control in Perforce, alongside maintaining and editing Confluence pages and utilising Slack. As well as this, I became adept with agile methodology and the use of Jira.

Features I designed included the Car Collection feature and the Car Dealership feature.
